2012 in Review

Since I did not make one post during 2012, I figured I would do a quick review of the year!

FEBRUARY 2012
First trip for the boys to DISNEYLAND! On our way there we spent the night in Vegas and did a little sight seeing. We then spent two days at Disneyland and another two days with Toni's sister Ofa who had recently moved from New Zealand to LA.

The boys loved Disneyland and can not wait until we go back! I actually was a kid at heart again and loved it, and did not want our vacation to end! I too can't wait to go back! :)

APRIL 2012
Easter

MAY 2012
Tyson's last day of 1st grade
He is growing up way to fast and getting to smart for his britches!

MAY/JUNE 2012
Tyson 2nd year playing baseball

He is # 3.

AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2012
Tyson and Tua's first year of playing soccer. I of course took pictures with my phone but they really did not turn out well at all. At least we have their team photos to remember that they really did play.

SEPTEMBER 2012
Tua's 1st day of preschool
I think I was was more nervous and scared than he was. He was just excited that he got to ride the bus! He is going to preschool at Cherry Creek Elementary and the bus picks him up right at our house and drops him off. He is loving it and has learned a lot already! It is sad to think I no longer have a baby. :(

Waiting patiently for the bus!

OCTOBER/ NOVEMBER 2012
Tyson's 1st year playing basketball

OCTOBER 2012
Tyson's black eye
October 18th at 12:40 pm, I got a call at work from the secretary at Tyson's school. She said that Tyson and another kid were playing tag at recess and hit heads and that Tyson and a good sized goose ache above his eye. I said I would come get him right away! I ran out of work and took off to get him. When I got there he was sitting in a chair with ice on his eye. As I walked in he started to cry. It almost made me cry! Poor boy. The nurse and secretary said he was being so brave and had not cried at all, of course until I walked in. I took him home and we keep ice on it the rest of the day and the next couple of days. It was a pretty horrible black eye. I am sure many people thought his dad smacked him or something like that. After several weeks it started to look better.

Grandma Stanley passed away
October 2012 was a difficult month. On Sunday, October 14, my sister, JaNae, was over visiting my grandma and asked how she was and she told her that she was not feeling well. She said that she had this couch and would cough so hard that she had thrown up. She also said that her whole body was aching. She went back and told my Dad. My dad then made sure she went to the Drs the next morning. They went and discovered that she had fluid on her lungs. The gave her some medicine and went home. They then went back to the Drs on Wednesday. The ended up admitting her to the hospital. While there they discovered her heart issue and on Friday they transported her up to Provo. Tyson and I went over to see her and my parents since I had stayed home with Tyson because of his black eye. She seemed like she doing alright and wanted to know how long she would have to stay there. They got her up to walk and she walked down the hall way and back. She had to take a step for each grand kid and great grand kid she has. We visited a bit and then went home. We stopped in on Saturday on our way to Salt Lake and also on our way back. Sunday we went over and visited for awhile. When we got there my parents were in the lobby and said that she was asleep. We then walked up to see if she was awake. My dad peeked in and she was still sleeping. The nurse said she was waiting for family and that she had been sleeping most of the morning. She was in the chair because she did not like the bed. She looked so uncomfortable. My dad walked in and woke her up. She was so excited to see us. We visited a bit and come to find out she had not moved from the chair since friday when the had her walk down the hallway. We keep telling she needed to get up and move. She knew she did but her knees were really bothering her and they were not letting her take ibphrouin which would help her knees. A bit later the physical therapist stopped by and told her she needed to get up and get strong if she was going to have heart surgery. He put a belt thing around her and pulled her up. She was having a difficult time standing and was in a lot of pain. She just kept telling him to let her sit down. This was very difficult to watch. Just to see the rapid decline in 2 days was mind boggling. My mom and dad stepped out in the hallway with the physical therapist and I was talking with her. She said she just wanted to be around a little bit longer because she loved to watch the great grand kids play and she wanted to see Kayla's baby. She just wanted to be around for her family because she loved them so much. She was fighting back tears and had me fighting back tears as well. I then told her she needed to get strong so we could take her home. She then tried moving her legs back and forth and up and down. She could move them very little with out excruciating pain. I must say it is very difficult to see someone you love so much in so much pain. My parents then came in and we visited a little bit longer before I went home. I did not make it over to see her on Monday which I regret now, but on Tuesday Tyson and I stopped by for a few minutes that evening. They had her in the bed now and she looked a little more comfortable but she did not look good. Nyra, Rhonda, and Misty were with her. Misty was ready to go so Rhonda walked out with her. Nyra took Tyson and was going to walk down the hall and find Roger. I was talking with her and asked how she was she said she was in a lot of pain. We visited for a few and then she started making kind of a moaning sound. I asked her if she was ok. She said it was her hip. She said she needed to move her leg. I asked if she wanted me to get the nurse or if I could try to help her. She did not want the nurse because she said they were to rough. I moved her leg a hair and the pain in her face was too much. I felt so bad for her. A few minutes later a lady with hospice came in and started talking with her. I then told the lady I would go and grab her daughters. I found Nyra and went back to say goodbye. (not knowing that it really was goodbye.). I told her that we loved her and that we would come back to see her tomorrow. She said, " oh, I hope there is not another tomorrow!" Oh course i burst in to tears and said Bye. They said I was the last one to have a conversation with her. Wednesday, October 24, at 12:40p.m, i got news that my dear grandma had passed away. I still have a hard time with how fast she went. I am grateful that it was fast and she did not have to suffer but it is still hard. I think about her all the time and wake up often thinking about her. I love and miss you so much grandma! I have a difficult time going home to Mona because when i drive by your house your lights and tv are not on. I am sure you are happy with grandpa and I take comfort in knowing I will see you again soon! FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!

NOVEMBER 2012
Tua's 5th birthday
We celebrated a couple days before by going to Nicle Mania and then family came over the next day for cake and ice cream.

DECEMBER 2012

Trip to San Fran
We took a quick to San Fran 2 days after Christmas for a funeral of a close family friend of Toni's. Although, it was a quick trip we did take a few hours a do a little sight seeing. The boys of course loved all the bridges!
